So, the bored person who made this kind of got sick of the commercial weather web pages.
On any browser, it's dog slow.
On a mobile browser, it made me want to rip my eyes out.
Weather.com, wunderground.com, accuweather.com, they are all painful for me.
So, I decided to collect geocoding data from mapquest and weather data directly from the
National Weather Service and roll my own.
Feel free to use it. It's just a project I threw together one night.
Questions
- Why not just use one of their apps????
- I'll keep this short and simple. I don't really do apps. You don't want me ranting about apps.
- I want [insert data point here].
- I made this as a side-project to see if I could. I might add it later
- This site looks like something made in 1995
- I am not a front-end developer. I wanted this simple. Plus, half the problems with the other sites is the bloat on the client-side. It is deliberately simple
- Why not just use the national weather services pages?
- Honestly, they are kind of ugly. And this page is simple and beautiful. :-)
